Miraculously, we saw hope in Modi Ji, the guy who would speak up for everything, talk about all the good things the citizens wanted to hear. We finally had a leader who spoke, voiced our needs, responded to our queries, travelled the world, and told us what India was and where it deserved to stand in the global picture. But seemingly, it was all a bare-faced lie. We all became devotees of a politician, and THAT was the point where we failed collectively as a democracy.
As a follower of the fad that came initially, I also used to listen to his euphonious speeches a lot, and not to lie, all his talks made sense. He laid bare the 'exploitative conspiracies' of Congress, of how we had been cheated on, and our voices were never heard, of how the Congress had hampered the country's development from the last 7 decades.
It felt good to hear some truth. But then this truth became merely an excuse to justify his deeds. He spoke, spoke, and spoke but stopped making sense anymore. Now all his talks turned to a pile of unconvincing blether.
We now have a leader who speaks but never answers, who imposes his will but never listens, passes important bills within seconds without any discussion, takes crucial decisions with shallow planning that are later vindicated by deep sentimental speeches at 8 pm.
Let me elaborate if it's confusing.
Who doesn't know about the recent farmers' agitation after the new farmers, bill? Well, Modi Ji came to address the nation and beat around the bush for quite some time, blaming the Congress and other parties. Yes, Congress did a lot of stupid shit while in power. But what do we do of that right now? We need to know how the current government plans to resolve the current issue. It is not answering properly in the parliament, and it is not answering to the people. It is giving scripted, choreographed answers to the media channels, which always favour it. There are no open press conferences held.
Farmers are protesting, and we have the right to know how the government will address the problem. There was a press conference once. Not only did Modi Ji not answer our questions, but there were no follow-up questions from our media either. We all know what our media has become, but we should think of what the Government is afraid of. It can impose the rules but must at least be able to justify them. Those who protest are called anti-nationalists and even terrorists.
The Modi Government has done some remarkable work. But now, it is trying to kill democracy by turning our country's politics into one-party politics. It's time we do not believe its words rather check its actions. It's time we form our opinions based not only on the bills it has passed rather on the process through which they were passed and their repercussions.
Let's ask the right question to ourselves and try to empower democracy. It seems trivial but after all...

Good work bro✌️

ReplyDeleteImpressive work bro ❤️
ReplyDeleteIt's better to keep your political opinion with yourself. Don't spread your propoganda. We all love in democratic country but if some parties can't counter with bjp even making grand alliance then it's not bjp or modi blame. If Assudin Owasi just go with muslim polarization and win in Muslim majority areas then no one make a political angle but if bjp win in Hyderabad or Bihar then "EVM KHARAB HA"
ReplyDeleteThis is my country... Here secularism is only for majority population not for minorities...
Live long India
What's wrong in expressing my political opinion. Last time I checked I had right of speech. I have not supported congress or Owasi here. Yes, India is my country and I stand by its constitution, therefore I believe in my country. Secularism is my constitutional right and it is for everyone.
DeleteInteresting point of view brdr... Great you keep your thoughts honestly. Though we differ on that aspect, still respect that.
ReplyDeleteThis is what India should be. Difference of thoughts but respect and freedom for speech which contradict you. Respect++ to you bro.
DeleteThe best part of this blog is its title which itself explains everything- "who speaks but never answers"
ReplyDeleteGud one.. bro..
ReplyDeleteWell written! Anything that harms the farmers, is disastrous for an agriculture-based economy like India. But, as Chetan Bhagat mentioned in his article, the complainant farmers are comparing yesterday's best with tomorrow's possibly worst case scenario. I think we need to read the history of farmers and their opinions on the bill (spanning the whole country).
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, they are asking to scrape 3 laws for one provision of MSP. However important it is, do these representatives want the farmers with small landholdings to go back to where they started from?
The title is very accurate and this blog is really well written.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the responsibility of media is to be a transparent unbiased medium of information for people. The reason we are into this mess today is the media has become completely biased and opaque and people completely dumb.
Second, people need to be more sensible and aware. If someone is always showing you good side you will have to find out and verify the other side. Also, I have noticed people take everything personally and egotistically due to which they are effortlessly divided, distracted and manipulated. As citizens we have a responsibility to be responsible for our actions, aware of the consequences and united for our country.
Don't worry if people criticize you it's their opinion, keep writing.
Jai hind ! 😌✌️
Good to know your perspective. I too agree to some of the points but still I think you made your perspective before doing some deep research. And this is the gift of our media which is ranked 142 in world, that we need to do research ourself to get the facts. I also blame gov. that it cannot make understand its policies to public.
ReplyDeleteNo to forget that the 3 bills he introduced are more bourgeoisie than any sentence that will ever be written in the constitution. The very thought of valuing farmers produce on some kind of luck is capitalism. This makes the people who help pass this more traitor to our country and to the very thought of neo-socialism. And don't call me a traitor or anti-national after reading this comment. I am exercising my right to speech and this not a emergency.
ReplyDeleteWell written Aryan. It's so clean and non polarized just some facts which are actually true.
ReplyDeleteWell explained and well written. Title is cherry on the cake.
ReplyDeleteGood to see that someone is trying to ask right questions. Because what ever is happening for that only citizens are responsible. We stop asking right questions from our so called leaders due to which they start thinking that they can do what ever they want. According to me "Accountability towards peoples is the only difference between democracy & dictatorship"
